Google Analytics - any words of wisdom?

Hi I've been playing around with Google Adwords for a while now and am keen to get to grips with analytics. I've looked at the application and it certainly seems to offer a lot of information - but given that I'm also busy running a business I'm at a bit of a loss as how to set it up and get started with it. If anyone has any words of wisdom to provide I'd be eager to hear them. Do's and don't's, short cuts - what I should be doing first etc. So calling on collective wisdom please...
